Indian Diplomat in New York Devyani Khobragade, who has been accused of VISA fraud was strip-searched by Law Enforcement Authorities, reveal news reports.
39 year old Devyani, who is an 1999 Batch IFS Officer, was also handcuffed in full public view and arrested, while dropping her Children to School. Despite her protests, she was taken to Police Station where where she was striped and searched and confined with several drug addicts. She was also subjected to DNA swabbing.

India has strongly objected to this act of US Authorities and several Indian Leaders including Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar refused to meet the American Congressional Delegation yesterday.
Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Charge d`Affaires of Indian Embassy earlier met with the senior officials in the U.S. State Department and reiterated India’s strong demarche to the U.S. Ambassador in New Delhi regarding the treatment meted out to Devyani Khobragade.
In the meeting it was emphasised that Devyani Khobragade is a diplomat, who is in the U.S. in pursuance of her duties and hence is entitled to the courtesy due to a diplomat in the country of her work.
She is also a young mother of two small children. Government of India is shocked and appalled at the manner in which she has been humiliated by the U.S. authorities. It was also conveyed in no uncertain terms that this kind of treatment to one of our diplomats is absolutely unacceptable.
