Maharishi Vidya Mandir School Chief arrested for raping Teacher

Bhopal: Girish Chandra Verma, the Chairman of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Group of Schools has been arrested on account of Rape Charges by a School Teacher. He was arrested Sunday evening and would be presented before court today.

The Teacher, who was working in one of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir School Ratanpur has said in her complaint that Verma had forced  sexual relations with her for past 7 years.

She also alleged that Verma had threatened that she and her husband,  who also worked with the group, would lose their jobs if she failed to cooperate.

As per reports, the victim had complained on December 24, 2012. The susbsequent FIR  was lodged in March 2013, while he was arrested on Sunday evening  from his Ashram in Chhan village. He would be presented in Court today.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, Verma along with his supporters turned up at Mahila Thana to record his statements after two notices were slapped against him.

As per news reports, the Victim had also complained to the MP State Women’s Commission, in which she alleged that she was repeatedly molested by Girish Chandra Varma for the past several years.  Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav had also recommended a probe in this case in March  2013.

In her Complaint, the victim alleged that the accused often insisted her and her husband to accompany him to nation and world tours. Everytime adjoining rooms were booked for for them and he used to molest her often after sending away her husband for some work. The Victim’s Husband held a senior position in the Institute.
