Yesteryear’s Heartthrob Actress Suchitra Sen passed away of Cardiac arrest today morning at a Belle Vue Clinic Hospital, Kolkata.

She was 83 and was admitted to Hospital since December 23 due to a respiratory tract infection and was later diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was later shifted to Intensive Care Unit.
Her condition was stable till yesterday and family members planned to take her home, but it started deteriorating at night and she was put on Life Saving System. Unofficial sources say that she passed away at 4 AM 8:25 AM in the morning.
She is survived by is survived by her daughter Munmun and two granddaughters, Raima and Riya Sen.
Her Funeral would take place at Keoratala Crematorium in south Kolkata today. CM Mamata Banjerjee has ordered a Gun salute to be accorded to the legendary actress. In her Condolence Message she said, “Today is a sad day for all of us. With her passing away we have lost a colossal figure”.
