Canacona (Goa): The Collapse of an Under-Construction Building at Canacona town has claimed over 14 lives and an equal number have been injured. Several Construction workers are feared to be trapped inside as rescue team from Indian Army clears the debris.
As per reports, an under-construction building named as Ruby Residency located in the Chawdi ward of Canacona town (60 km from Panaji), collapsed yesterday at 3 PM,  burying over 50 persons working at the site. The Building was being constructed by Bharat Developers and Realtors Private Ltd,  Mumbai.
According to Goa CM Manohar Parrikar, “Police have filed an FIR against the builder and municipal officials concerned who had sanctioned the building”.
Coincidentally, Parrikar was in Canacona Town to attend a Cultural ceremony, which remains cancelled upon the Building Collapse Incident. Parrikar was himself seen monitoring the Rescue Operation.
