Siwan: A Girl , who committed suicide due to Dowry Harassment has requested herself to be cremated in front of Groom’s House. She took her life on the evening of January 8 after repeated harassment by Groom’s family over demand of money.
As per news reports, Manisha Kumari,  daughter of Suresh Pandey of the Inglish village in  Bihar’s Siwan district, was engaged to Ashish Dubey from the Majhwali village of Siwan.
Initially they demanded a Dowry of Rs 2 Lakhs, which Bride’s father had paid. However they further increased their demand by 3 Lakhs, failing which they threatened to cancel the wedding.
Though her Family were trying to get the amount, Manisha was highly depressed due to this. This led her to commit suicide by  jumping in front of the Barauni-Lucknow Express.
In a Suicide note, recovered from her Diary, she requested her parents to cremate her dead body in front of the house of Groom’s family, so that  the whole world comes to know about their deeds and she gets the justice.
The Girl was presently doing her Post-Graduate from a prestigious college in Kanpur.
