Haryana Govt suspends Senior Cops in Hooda Slapping Case

Chandigarh: The Haryana government yesterday  suspended two state police officers following an incident of a youth slapping Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Panipat town.

Official sources told IANS that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bali Ram and Inspector Rajesh Kumar were placed under suspension for negligence in VVIP duty.

A youth, Kamal Mukhija, had emerged from the crowd and jumped on an open SUV on which Hooda was moving during a political roadshow in Panipat town, 170 km from here, and tried to attack Hooda. The youth was held by the security personnel but not before he got near Hooda and slapped him.

The incident reflected poorly on Hooda’s high profile Z category security cover. The chief minister is the most protected person in the state.
