Hindus living in USA pray for Washington Mudslide Victims

Nevada: Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has called for prayers for the Oso (Washington, USA) landslide victims.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, appealed to the Hindu community to hold special prayer sessions in Hindu temples all over USA.

Rajan Zed, expressing deep sympathies, noted: Hearts and thoughts of Hindu community of USA go to the victims’ families and loved ones, injured, rescuers and relief workers. May God grant them strength, courage, comfort, and assistance. It was a highly tragic and difficult time for them, Zed added.

Zed further said that he was full of sorrow for this tragedy and urged other religious leaders of USA to join him in prayers. It was a heartbreaking incident, Zed stated.

This March 22 mudslide has reportedly claimed 14 lives and 176 people potentially remain unaccounted for near the town of Oso, about 55 miles northeast of Seattle in the state of Washington. Emergency officials fear that death toll might rise.
