Bihar Boy Tejaswin Jha tops CBSE-AIPMT 2014 Examination

Patna: Tejaswin Jha, a Boy from Bihar has topped the prestigious AIPMT 2014 Examination conducted by CBSE, New Delhi. AIPMT, which stands for All India Pre-Medical Test, is the largest joint entrance examination for admission to undergraduate courses in Medical and Dental Colleges.

Tejaswin Jha, who hails from Banka in Bihar, scores 682 out of 700, the highest by any candidate across the country. A total of 523701 students had appeared for AIPMT 2014 Examination out of which only 46271 had qualified the test. Tejaswin emerged as the topper out of 523701 candidates.

His mother is a school teacher while his father is an officer in Indian Air Force. Earlier he had scored 96.2% in Class 10th (ICSE) and 96.2% in Class 12 (AISSCE) examination conducted by CBSE. After passing his class 10 examination, he left for Kota in Rajasthan to pursue his academic dreams.

The Cutoff for Unreserved category in AIPMT this year was 438 out of 700. For OBC it was 434 while for SC and ST it was 295 and 288 respectively.

Of the total qualified candidates, 18,115 passed under the 15 percent all India quota seats, of which 9,716 are male and 8,399 are female.
