4 new AIIMS to come up in Andhra, UP, Bengal and Maharashtra

New Delhi: The government will set up four new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the country, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said Thursday.

Saying Rs.500 crore has been set aside for this, he told parliament while presenting the national budget that the new AIIMS would come up in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.

He said six AIIMS have become functional at Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Patna (Bihar), Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), Bhubaneshwar
(Odisha) and Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
