Delhi Police arrests 4 robbers of famous Moradabadi gang

New Delhi: Police Sunday claimed to have solved at least six cases of robbery in the capital following the arrest here of four alleged members of the infamous ‘Moradabadi gang’.

Rajesh, 38, Sanjay, 45, Mohan, 45, and Mohit, 25 – all residents of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh – were arrested Friday near Rohini Sector 26 in north Delhi where they had allegedly gathered to commit another robbery.

“Their arrest led us to solve at least six cases of robberies committed by them in different areas of Delhi,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav.

The gang has also committed robberies in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.

“They would commit robberies while moving from one city to another in quick succession. The route they usually followed was from Moradabad to Ghaziabad and further towards Delhi, Ambala, Khanna, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. They came back via the same route,” Yadav said.

The gang used motorbikes during the robberies.

“They stayed in a city for four-five days depending on the booty they collected from the robbery,” the police official said.
