Government gives 100 crore for preservation of archaeological sites 

New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Thursday allocated Rs.100 crore for preservation of archaeological sites.

“Archaeological sites preservation require urgent attention, lest ancient heritage is lost to future generation,” Jaitley said while presenting the budget for 2014-15.

“I allocate Rs.100 crore for this purpose,” he said.

Gaya will also be developed as a world class tourism spot.

Jaitley also said the country needs more world-class convention facilities.

“World class convention facility to be developed through public private partnership mode,” he said.

“Goa has emerged as a major international convention centre, and it has been declared as a venue for international film festival in India,” he added.
