STPI Patna adds new incubation facility with 10 Crores Investment

The Minister of Communications and IT and Law & Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad laid Foundation Stone for a New Incubation Facility of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in Patna today.

It aims at boosting the entrepreneurship and IT exports from the State of Bihar. The facility will add 8000 sq ft with an estimated investment of Rs. 10 Crores for catering the needs of the start-up companies and young entrepreneurs.

The new facility would act as a resource center for IT/ITeS exporting units by offering infrastructural facilities like ready to use state of the art incubation facilities, High Speed Data Communication (HSDC) with uninterrupted data connectivity and other amenities as required for development and export of Software & services. The new facility would be operational within 18 months and stimulate to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for the IT educated masses of this region.

This facility at Patna would also be used for one of the Digital India initiatives i.e. indigenous production of IT hardware and software for exports and also to support software product startups.

The Software Technology Parks of India Patna was established in year 2008 as a part of the the overall STPI scheme conceived during the year 1991 to distinctly focus for promotion of IT/ITeS exports from the country. STPI, Patna has created 11500 sq. ft. built up space. The existing facility is with IIT Patna and the same is also to be taken by STPI for the incubation purpose soon. Further, STPI is setting up new Incubation facility at Patna to cater the need of IT Industries and boosting the entrepreneurship and IT exports from the State of Bihar. This facility at Patna would also be used for one of the Digital India initiatives i.e. indigenous production of IT hardware and software for exports and also to support software product startups.

The new Incubation space will provide following state-of-the-art facilities for IT/ITES units:
· Built up area for ready to use by the IT/ITES Entrepreneurs in modules as well as semi furnished space.

· Air-conditioning facility
· Un-interrupted Power Supply with stand-by Gen. Set
· Common Conference & Training Halls(equipped with latest presentation aids)
· Cafeteria
· Security (CCTV, ACCESS CONTROL & OTHER MODERN SECURITY)

The presence of STPI-Patna has opened up new opportunities by offering entire spectrum of services for IT/ITES Industry in the State of Bihar to make Patna as an ideal IT destination.
