JDU blames Narendra Modi for Political Instability in Bihar

Patna: The Janata Dal (United) workers staged a protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday and blamed him for the political instability in Bihar.

The protestors raised slogans against Prime Minister Modi and also burnt his effigy. Former Bihar chief minister and senior JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar had earlier accused Prime Minister Modi and the BJP of ‘attempting to throttle democracy’.

Kumar also alleged that the Bihar Governor’s decision to ask Manjhi to prove his majority in the state assembly on February 20 has been scripted in Delhi and is designed to ‘allow horse-trading of MLAs’.

Meanwhile, the notable allies of Janata Dal United (JD-U) viz. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and CPI also joined the bandwagon. During a joint news conference, JD-U, RJD, Congress party and Communist Party of India (CPI), accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for political uncertainty in Bihar.

A RJD leader, Ramchandra Purve, said that earlier of transfer of powers was smooth in Bihar and hit out at BJP alleging it for creating tension. However, BJP refuted the allegations.

Lashing out at JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that Kumar is blaming centre for Bihar crisis but it has no role in that.
