Nitish Kumar takes Oath as CM along with 22 other Ministers

Patna: Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was today sworn in as the Chief Minister for the fourth time. Apart from him, 22 Ministers from JD(U) were also sworn in as Cabinet Ministers.

Those who were sworn in included Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Vijendra PRasad Yadav, Ramai Ram, Damodar Prasad Yadav, P K Shahi, Shyam Rajak, Awadhesh Prasad Kushwaha, Lessy Singh, Dulal Chandra Goswami, Rajeev Ranjan Singh, Shravan Kumar, Ram Lakhan Ram Raman, Ramdhani Singh, Jay Kumar Singh, Manoj Kumar Singh, Javed Iqbal Ansari, Beema Bharti, Ranju Geeta, Baidyanath Sahni, Naushad Alam, Binod Prasad Yadav. All the Ministers would hold the same portfolio as they held earlier.

The out-going Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was also present at occasion. Manjhi greeted Nitish Kumar and other Ministers upon swearing in ceremony.

Other guests at the oath taking ceremony were West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitish Kumar on becoming CM 4th time. “Congratulations & best wishes to Shri Nitish Kumar on being sworn-in as Bihar CM”, he tweeted.

Nitish Kumar thanked PM Modi for his well wishes. “I would like to thank PM Narendra Modi for the wishes. The state government will work with the Centre for the welfare of the state and country… In the interest of Bihar, if I have to meet Mr Modi, I will do so,” he said at a press conference in the evening.
