Bihar Govt to honor 39 Women on Bihar Diwas for their Role in Women Empowerment

Patna: Bihar Government has created a new Women Empowerment Policy in the state. The new policy would be unveiled on the occasion of Bihar Diwas (Annual Bihar Day) on upcoming March 22.

These Women would be honored for their role in Female Empowerment

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said that the state Government would also award those women who have contributed to women empowerment in the state.

On the occasion of Bihar Diwas, one woman from every 38 district would be awarded Rs 50000 each and one woman from the entire state would be awarded Rs 1 Lakh for contribution to women empowerment. This award would be given every year from now on wards.

Bihar Diwas is observed every year on March 22, marking the formation of the state of Bihar. It was on this day when the British carved out the state from Bengal Presidency in 1912.

This Day is a public Holiday in Bihar. Bihar Divas was started and celebrated on large scale by Bihar Government in the tenure of Nitish Kumar. Apart from India, it is celebrated in countries including United States, Britain, Australia, Canada, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Trinidad and Tobago and Mauritius.
