Indian bride-to-be ‘Lovely’ refused to tie the knot after quizzing her groom with a simple math question.
She asked her groom to add 15 plus 6, but when he answered 17, she decided he wasn’t the man for her.
She says she was lied to about his smarts when she finally met the man, Ram Baran, for the first time.
“They had showed me someone else’s photo but another person turned up. The boy neither earns, nor could he solve a simple math question. I refused to marry him.”
The groom’s family tried to convince Lovely to return, but she walked out and didn’t come back.
Her high school certificate on display, her friends say she wants an educated man.
The gifts exchanged in the arranged marriage were later returned.
Though local media report it isn’t uncommon for the bride and groom to marry in India without knowing each other well, Lovely’s groom certainly wasn’t the man of her dreams.
