COUSIN OF OAKLAND MAN KILLED IN YEMEN, MOHAMMED ALAZZANI SAYS, “Every time they remember his name, they just cry.”

His cousin says Al-Labwani left for his home country two months ago to visit his pregnant wife and young daughter… hoping to bring them back to the U.S.

“He was pretty worried. He was pretty worried for the past 3 weeks.”

Al-Labani was reportedly killed in a rebel mortar attack as he was leaving a mosque.

His family and friends, along with an American-Islamic group, say more needs to be done to protect U.S. citizens in the restive country.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, BAY AREA COUNCIL ON AMERICAN-ISLAMIC RELATIONS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ZAHRA BILLOO, SAYS, “We also have the largest military in the world, by far. And so to see that smaller, less stable countries are able to get their citizens out and the U.S. government is saying its impossible is difficult to believe and very disappointing.”

But for friends and family, nothing can be done to bring back their loved one.
