Gajendra Singh Suicide Case: Delhi Police Team leaves for Dausa in Rajasthan

New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Thursday met Home Minister Rajnath Singh on farmer Gajendra Singh’s suicide case.

A Delhi Police Crime Branch team, investigating the case has also left for the Dausa district of Rajasthan. Gajendra had committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree during the rally. As per reports, a suicide note was found that revealed the farmer, who had three children, was banished from his house after his crop was damaged.

He took the extreme step because he had no means of support his family.

The death of Gajendra Singh has sparked criticism against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, with opposition parties condemning that the rally went on despite the grave incident.

While workers of the Youth Congress on Thursday protested against Kejriwal outside his residence, BJP workers also protested at the Shaheedi Park. The demonstrators raised slogans against Kejriwal and burnt his effigies, slamming the Delhi Chief Minister for continuing with his address despite Gajendra’s suicide.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Gopal Rai, Pankaj Gupta and Kumar Vishwas held a meeting at Kejriwal’s residence over the issue
