Kenya Garissa University Attack: Visitors throng at Mortuary to have a glimpse of Attackers

Garissa (Kenya): At a mortuary in Garissa, Kenya, visitors covered their noses as they tried to get a glimpse of four of the al Shabaab gunmen who were involved in Thursday’s massacre in eastern Kenya that left scores dead.

As crowds lined up, police could be seen gathering shoes and clothes of the dead Islamist militants who unleashed terror at a local university, targeting mostly Christian students.

Further west, in the capital Nairobi, families headed to a crisis center in the hope of finding their loved ones who went missing after the attack.

“We are trying to search for her, the list we have seen she is not there, up to now I do not know where she is but we are not giving up hope… we want to have hope that she will be found alive or dead somewhere.”, relative of a missing girl said.

Officials said almost 150 people died, with at least 79 wounded, many critically.

But with an uncertain number of students and staff still missing, the casualties may yet mount – from one of the worst massacres on Kenyan soil.
