Patna High Court gets 2 new Additional Judges

Patna: 2 new Additional Judges have been appointed at Patna High Court by the President of India, taking the total number of Judges to 33.

In a Statement, the office of President of India said, “In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (1) Smt. Nilu Agrawal and (2) Shri Sudhir Singh to be Additional Judges of the Patna High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices”.

The Judges of High Court are appointed via Presidential assent on advice of the Chief Justice of India with consultation of Governor of Bihar.

Patna High Court was established on 3 February 1916 and later affiliated under the Government of India Act 1915.
