The portal of Kedarnath shrine would open tomorrow April 24 for the pilgrims and Rahul would be among the first batch of pilgrims visiting the holy shrine.

Rahul would spend the night at Lincholi base and continue his trekking on Friday morning.

According to sources, Rahul Gandhi is visiting the holy shrine in order to spread a positive message among the pilgrims whose numbers have fallen drastically after the 2013 devastating flood.

An official statement from Uttarakhand Government said that Rahul Gandhi will be accompanied by senior Congress leader Ambika Soni, Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat and state Congress president Kishore Upadhyaya.”
