Cooperation on counter-terrorism and intelligence key component of relationship: US Envoy

Jalandhar, May 22 (ANI): US ambassador to India, Richard Verma said counter-terrorism, co-operation and intelligence sharing were important parts of relationships between countries while referring to 2008 Mumbai attacks. Verma said it was the quest of US to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks to justice, as President Barack Obama had outlined on his visit to India in February. Ten gunmen infiltrated the city by boat and spent three days spraying bullets and throwing grenades around city landmarks. India blamed Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba for Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people, including US nationals. Verma said it was for India and Pakistan to resolve their difference over trade and security.
