First look of Azhar

Mumbai, May 22 (ANI): The cast and crew of upcoming Bollywood film ‘Azhar’ unveiled its first look in India’s entertainment capital Mumbai on Thursday. The film, a biopic on former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin, has been directed by Tony D’Souza and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Sneha Rajani. Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi would essay the role of Azharuddin, showcasing his eventful life. He was the best fielder to emerge from the subcontinent in pre T-20 era and also the man in-charge of Indian cricket for majority of 1990s. But his career ended in shame after he received life ban for alleged involvement in match fixing. Emraan, who claimed to be a huge fan of Azharuddin at the promotional event, said he would get scolded for bunking classes to play cricket during school hours. Recalling one such incident 20 years back, he said once when he was caught along with his friends for playing cricket, he noticed everyone had their collars turned up as to imitate the unique mannerisms of Azharuddin. ‘Azhar’ is slated for release on 13th May, 2016.
