Maggi Noodles Row: UP Food Administration to prosecute Nestle

Barabanki/Lucknow, May 30 (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration on Saturday gave its nod to prosecute Nestle India, which manufactures instant Maggi noodles, a batch of which was found to contain dangerous levels of lead. A complaint case will be filed against Nestle in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court in Barabanki district, where the samples of Maggi had been taken for testing. Food and Drugs Commissioner PK Singh said the result of test from Kolkata National Lab proved that there is increased amount of Lead and MSG in Maggi than what is prescribed. He added that violation of different regulations of Food Safety and Standard Act was found.
