Maoists call for shutdown in Latehar to protest against police encounter of woman cadre

Latehar, May 25 (ANI): The Naxals announced a shut down in Latehar district of Jharkhand to protest against the killing, by security forces, of a woman cadre about a week ago in an encounter. On May 17 in the jungle of Barachati of Gaya district, during the confrontation with Police, a woman Naxal Sarita Ganjhu was shot dead. Due to the shutdown, the streets wore a deserted look and no vehicles were seen on the roads. Earlier in the day, maoists created chaos on NH 2 GT Road and set 32 vehicles on fire in Amas which is 70 km from the Gaya district.
