Ceasefire Violations decreased after Modi came to Power: Manohar Parrikar

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said that incidents of ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) have come down notably since Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government came to power.

In last one year, Pakistan violated the ceasefire truce at the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir a number of times, according to local media. The reports suggested that ceasefire violation was exceptionally high during the months of December and January. However, Parrikar said that the figures were wrong.

Talking about Modi’s ambitious ‘Make in India’ project, Parrikar said a lot of work was yet to be done in the defence sector under the initiative.

Commenting on a report by Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on ammunition management which stated there was a colossal ammunition shortage with Indian reserves that would hardly last 20 days of intense fight, Parrikar said the defence ministry was taking steps to tackle it. He went on to congratulate Modi for making India better equipped to tackle any challenge and positioning it vis-à-vis with other world powers.
