People visit beaches in Visakhapatnam to cool off in summer heat

Visakhapatnam, May 29 (ANI): People in Visakhapatnam flocked to its beaches to get some respite from the scorching sun. Heat wave in India has killed at least 1,371 people this week as temperatures soar above 47 Celsius. The toll in Andhra Pradesh alone has reached 1020. As people are unable to bear the hot winds and there is so much humidity, a lot of tourists are heading to the beaches to get away from the warm temperatures. Authorities in Andhra Pradesh have also cancelled doctors’ leave and advised people not to head outside in the middle of the day to avoid the worst of the heat. However for many people, staying indoors is not an option. May and June are India’s hottest months, with temperatures regularly pushing above 40 Celsius. But meteorologists say the number of days when temperatures approach 45 Celsius has increased in the past 15 years.
