Confrontation between Najeeb Jung and Arvind Kejriwal is not Political, but Constitutional one, says Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, May 22 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday said that power sharing between the Centre and the Delhi government is clearly demarcated, and added that the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) clarifies the matter.

He also said the confrontation between the offices of the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister in Delhi was not a political issue but a Constitutional one.

The Ministry of Home Ministry ( MHA) had earlier in the day issued a notification to clarify distribution of powers between the Lieutenant Governor’s office and the office of the Delhi chief minister, saying the former has primacy in postings and transfers of officers belonging to Central services.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, however, said the notification on power sharing in the administration of the capital city was indicative of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) nervousness about the Aam Aadmi Party’s anti-corruption efforts.
