Rare variety of mango in Madhya Pradesh attracts visitors

Alirajpur, May 24 (ANI): Noor Jahan, a rear variety of mango weighing over 4 kilograms has become an object of amusement among people in Alirajpur district of Madya Pradesh. The mango, which is popular not only in India but overseas as well, grows upto one feet in length and upto 19 inches in breadth. The owner of the mango orchard that grows Noor Jahan has received various awards including the national award. He also expressed concern over lack of encouragement from the government to cultivate such rare varieties of fruits. Meanwhile, people visiting Singh’s orchard credit the fruit for making Alirajpur popular. The Noor Jahan sapling was brought to Alirajpur from neighbouring Gujarat state, said Singh.
