Assam govt bans Wai- Wai noodles for 30 days

New Delhi, June 16 (ANI): After Maggi, the Assam government has banned the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of Wai-Wai 1-2- 3 Noodles and Wai-Wai mini Ready to eat Noodles for 30 days after samples of the instant noodles tested positive for monosodium glutamate (MSG). The new ban order comes into effect two weeks after Maggi was banned in the state. The government issued a notification under Section 30(2)(a) of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, according to an official release. “The samples of both the noodles have tested positive for monosodium glutamate, which is prohibited for use as additive in pastas and noodles as per Regulations 3.1.11.1 of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standard and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011,” it added.
