Devotees from varied faiths throng annual Urs of Hazrat Mukhdoom Jahaniyajan

Hardoi, June 15 (ANI): Against the backdrop of melodious sounds of shehnai alongwith scintillating rhythmic accompaniment of drums, devotees take out a procession of the annual urs of Saint Hazrat Mukhdoom Jahaniyajan. Each year, his followers throng the shrine in Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of the annual festival of Urs to pay their obeisance. Devotees of all sects and faiths come here to seek the saint’s blessings for fulfillment of wishes. The procession proceeds through the decorated streets of Hardoi before culminating at the shrine. It follows with prayers and devotees offer a sacred cloth over the tomb. Saint Mukhdoom is believed to have come from Yemen and made Hardoi his brief stop-over. After his death, his followers built the shrine in his honour. Since then, people from different communities gather here annually to pay respects to him.
