Dhoni becomes the only Indian player to be listed in Forbes magazine

Ranchi, June 12 (ANI): Residents of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s hometown in Jharkhand rejoiced as the Team India skipper made it to the Forbes list of highest paid athletes in the world. Dhoni is the lone Indian sportsperson to feature in the magazine’s coveted list. His ranking dropped to 23 from 22 this year. Dhoni’s total earnings stood at USD 31 million, including amount from salary/winnings at USD 4 million and USD 27 million from endorsements during the calendar year 2014-2015. Residents in Ranchi city congratulated Dhoni on the feat and credited his hard work for his success over the years. Some fans wished the cricketer opened a cricket stadium in the state to promote young talent. Dhoni retired from test cricket earlier this year and continues to remain as the one day international (ODI) player.
