Government hospitals in New Delhi deny healthcare to nine-day old infant

New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): A mother was made to run in search of healthcare for her ailing nine-day old infant after a number of government-run hospitals in New Delhi denied her treatment. The infant, who was diagnosed with a hole in her heart by a missionary hospital, was referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday. However, the doctors denied treatment to her when she was taken to AIIMS. After AIIMS refused to admit the infant, Sarita visited Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, GB Pant Hospital and Lok Narayan Jai Prakash Hospital but all of them denied admission on the pretext of unavailability of hospital beds. The child’s grandfather, Than Singh, said they had no option but to admit the child to
private Apollo Hospital.
