Mandya, June 26 (ANI): Janata Dal (Secular) Supremo HD Deve Gowda and former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Friday met the family members of the farmer who committed suicide in the state’s Mandya district. The farmer, identified as Linge Gowda, was upset at the non-payment of dues by sugar mills and harassment by moneylenders which pushed him to take this extreme step. Linge had committed suicide by setting his standing crop on fire and then jumping into it. He succumbed to burns on the spot from where his body was sent for a post mortem by the police. Gowda assured that he will raise the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and try to bring out some solution.
