Heavy rainfall continues in eastern and western India, creates flood-like situation

Karimnagar/ Malkangiri/ Mumbai, June 23 (ANI): Eastern and western India continued to receive heavy rainfall that has created flood-like situation, disrupting normal life. Malkangiri district of Odisha has been worst affected as communication system was disrupted and many villages were flooded. According to local media reports, over 20,000 people have been affected and around 500 houses were damaged. State authorities have been working on war-time footing to rescue people in flood-affected areas. Heavy downpour in Mumbai on Tuesday resulted in water-logging of streets, affecting normal life of people. The rain started on Friday morning, severely affecting public transport in financial capital. Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh received moderate rainfall on Tuesday. The weather department has predicted moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers at many places over Andhra Pradesh and its neighbouring states for the next three days.
