India gears up for International Yoga Day

Ahmedabad/ New Delhi/ Nagpur/ Patna/ Surat/ Varanasi, June 20 (ANI): A day ahead of International Yoga Day on Sunday, India geared up to make the celebrations – where millions are expected to perform the ancient exercise in more than 100,000 camps across the country – a huge success. The central government has drawn up extensive plans to promote yoga on June 21. In Gujarat, hundreds of people underwent yoga training on Saturday ahead of their attempt to make a record. Preparations were in full swing in Patna city and Nagpur city also. AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik said that the day would be celebrated at Delhi’s Rajpath, an elegant lawn-bordered boulevard that connects the presidential palace to India Gate, on a grand scale. Meanwhile, some people practiced the ancient Indian exercise in water. On the eve of the big event, a group of yoga enthusiasts performed yoga in a swimming pool in Surat city of Gujarat.
