Indian Army organizes spring festival in Kashmir

Budgam, June 15 (ANI): In an effort to reach out to the youngsters in Kashmir Valley, the Indian army organized a spring festival in Jammu and Kashmir. The program was received with great fanfare by the students and locals, who felt that such events would further cement a strong bond between the natives and the Indian army. GOC Victor Force, Major General Arvind Dutta, hailed the participation of the youth and women in the festival and said that the Army was always ready to help them. A range of cultural performances, including local dances, folk music and stage plays, were the highlight of the festival. The young participants especially women were encouraged to take part in the festival. At the event the Army provided computers, uniforms, school bags and stationary kits for local schools.
