Maggi row: 500 contractual workers to lose job in Nestle’s Goa plant

Maulinguem, June 10 (ANI): Following the ban on Maggi after excessive lead was found in their noodles, about 500 contractual workers at Nestle India’s plant in Maulinguem, Bicholim are set to lose their job. The plant which hires 800 contractual workers, ever since its Maggi noodles’ production lines were shut down on June 5, about 500 workers were asked by the plant officials not to report to work. Seven states in the country have banned Maggi which includes Delhi, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. Singapore has also banned the instant noodles, with reports stating that the United Kingdom has also ordered a study into its ingredients.
