Maharashtra FDA clears Maggi noodles after lead found to be under permissible limit

Mumbai, June 05 (ANI): The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave a clean chit to Maggi noodles after lead was found to be under permissible limit in the nine samples of Maggi noodles that were being tested in its Mumbai laboratory. Earlier, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) directed Nestle India to withdraw nine variants of Maggi noodles found unsafe from the market and to stop the further production and sale of the same. Seven states in the country have banned Maggi: Delhi, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. Singapore has also banned the instant noodles, with reports stating that the United Kingdom has also ordered a study into its ingredients.
