Hyderabad, June 10 (ANI): A man named Areeb Taha Mehdi was arrested by the Bahadurpura police for entering the restricted zone in the Nehru Zoological Park and taking video of a Jaguar, while pulling its paw. Mehdi, a share broker from Malakpet, later confessed that he was obsessed with wild animals and it was his life’s dream to touch a Jaguar. He also said that he allegedly bribed the zoo keeper and entered the “Jaguar Night House”. Mehdi’s friends photographed and recorded the entire incident while he teased the animal. While posting the photographs and video online Mehdi had written, “If anyone wants to have such mind blowing experience, do let me know.” (sic). Based on a complaint filed by Mr Mohiuddin, the assistant curator of the zoo, the local police booked a case. They tracked the accused on Facebook and arrested him. Police booked a case against him under IPC Section 448 (for trespass) and section 38 J of the Wildlife Protection Act.
