Nitish Kumar’s Poll Team to reach 3 Crore Voters door-to-door in next 1 month

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will kick off a door to door poll campaign from July 2 in view of upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections scheduled to be held in September-October. The 4-time Chief Minister of Bihar would be eying for a 5th term and despite allying his adversary RJD, aims to dispel the fears of a resurgent Jungle Raj in Bihar. The Campaign, known as Har Ghar Dastak, would be kicked off by Nitish Kumar himself giving Dastak on 10 doors on July 2. The Campaign would be launched simultaneously at 10,000 locations in the state. The Campaign aims to reach close to 1 crore households, or roughly 3 crore voters in one month.

Many do not know that the campaign of Nitish Kumar has been architected by Prashant Kishore, who was also the mastermind behind Narendra Modi’s 2014 Poll Campaign.

According to reports, JD(U) workers will reach individual households and would pose 4 questions to them.

1. Do you think Bihar has seen vikas or progress in the last 10 years?

2. Have you or your community gained?

3. Is Nitish the hero of this change, does the credit go to him?

4. If it is so, wouldn’t you consider extending your support to him?

This new style of campaigning in the state of Bihar where voting decisions are largely affected by Caste based issues, might pose a tough competition to Narendra Modi led BJP, which is confident to getting into power this time.

While the official strategy of poll campaign of BJP has not been disclosed, it is likely to be similar to its highly successful 2014 poll campaign. The Party has also decided not to announce any Chief Ministerial Candidate and instead seek vote in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
