Pak Army Chief says Kashmir an unfinished agenda of partition, India objects

Islamabad/ New Delhi, June 04 (ANI): Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif said that Kashmir was an “unfinished agenda of partition” and is inseparable from Pakistan. Sharif was addressing officers at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad, and his remarks were tweeted by Director General, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa. “Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of partition, and Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable,” Bajwa quoted the army chief as saying. “While we wish peace and stability in the region, we want a just resolution for Kashmir in the light of UN resolutions, and as per aspirations of Kashmiris, to bring lasting peace in the region.” Bajwa said General Sharif had warned that Pakistan was “fully capable of defeating nefarious designs,” and will not allow any country to use proxies against it. “Pakistan is opposed to using proxies in other countries and won’t allow any countries to use proxies against Pakistan,” Bajwa quoted Sharif in one of his tweets. Meanwhile, India objected on the statement by the Pak army chief and maintained that Jammu and Kashmir and even the Paksitan occupied part of Kashmir belongs to India and that Pakistan’s nervousness is giving out such statements.
