Pakistan Senate passes anti-India resolution, receives flak

New Delhi/Jammu, June 11 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Thursday after the Pakistan Senate passed a unanimous resolution strongly condemning the recent provocative statements made by Indian leaders. A Radio Pakistan report said the resolution, which was moved by Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq, said Pakistan rejects India’s hegemonic mindset. The resolution further stated that the Senate emphasizes that Pakistan would never allow its territory to be violated by India under any pretext, and that Pakistan’s armed forces are capable of issuing a befitting response to any such incursion. It said that India’s statements confirmed Islamabad’s apprehensions about Indian intentions to destabilise the country, and that the people of Pakistan should stand united with their armed forces to prevent this. The Senate urged the international community to take notice of India’s provocative statements, which did not bode well for regional peace and affected prospects of sovereignty and stability. The resolution stated the Indian provocations which undermined Pakistan’s anti-terror campaign are also aiding and abetting terrorists fighting in Pakistan. Upon conclusion of the discussion, Raja Zafarul Haq said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statements are in conflict with the United Nations Chart
