PM Modi addresses International Conference on Yoga for Holistic Health (Part- 1)

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): PM Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the International Conference on Yoga for Holistic Health at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital. He launched a commemorative coin and stamp to mark the occasion. Modi said that nobody had thought while proposing Yoga Day before United Nations that it would pass with such vast majority. He expressed gratefulness towards the international community for acknowledging the day and attaching importance to it. He said that the reach and spread of Yoga cuts across differences of color, caste and creed. Modi added that people want to live their life to the fullest and yoga is a way of doing so. He said that a person who practices yoga is in harmony with himself, his body, surroundings and nature. Further, he said that the ways of controlling communicable diseases have been found but burden of non-communicable diseases is increasing. Modi also said that there is ample evidence that practicing yoga helps combat stress. Prime Minister further said that Yoga helps in opening and refining of heart and emotions leading to greater compassion, mutual understanding and sensitivity to needs of others.
