Police impose curfew in Kashmir ahead of protest march by separatists

Srinagar, June 19 (ANI): Police imposed an undeclared curfew in Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday ahead of a march by separatists protesting the recent spate of civilian killings in the state. Separatist leaders will be taking out their protest rally later in the day from capital Srinagar to nearby Baramulla district where six civilians were killed within the last month in Sopore town. Police personnel were seen patrolling the streets as high security has been put in place in the summer capital. All shops and business establishments have been closed and public transport is off the roads. Residents of the city are distressed by the undisclosed curfew. Kashmir valley saw a complete shutdown on Wednesday, called for by separatist organisations protesting the Sopore killings.
