Pollution causes death of large number of fish in a rivulet in Kathua

Kathua, June 10 (ANI): Industrial wastage discharged in a rivulet in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir is threatening the aquatic life, with fishes dying in large numbers. Residents allege units at Kathua industrial estate have been flouting pollution norms and releasing untreated chemical laced water into the rivulet. Deputy Commissioner of Kathua, Ajay Singh Jamwal, assured the agitated residents of following up the matter with concerned officials. He said a team has been constituted to investigate the cause of fish death. A team from pollution department has collected water sample which would be tested in a lab.
