New Delhi, June 12 (ANI): Giving a political colour to the mess created in Delhi over non-payment of salaries to MCD workers, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday interacted with the sanitation workers. Gandhi sat and interacted with the distressed ‘safaikarmacahris’ at East Delhi corporation office. While speaking to sanitatin workers, he raised slogans like, “Abhi to ye angdai hai, aage aur ladai hai.” The continuing strike for the past 10 days has turned East Delhi into a huge garbage dump with nearly 12000 sanitation workers refusing to work without getting their dues. The sanitation workers have not been given salaries for the last three months. Earlier this week, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced that Rs 500 crore will be released to the capital’s civic bodies to clear salary arrears of its municipal corporations’ employees.
