Rehearsals on in New Delhi for International Yoga Day

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): Yoga guru, Baba Ramdev, on Sunday led a practice session ahead of the International Yoga Day celebrations in India on June 21. A large number of participants, including children, attended the three-hour-long session which took place at Delhi’s Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium amid rains. The United Nations (UN) declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga after adopting a measure proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi in his speech at the United General Assembly in September last year called for recognition of such a day. While interacting with people on Sunday, Ramdev hailed Modi for taking yoga to the global platform. Over one lakh camps will be set up across the country on June 21 for people to do yoga wherein around 100 million people are expected to take part, he added. The central government has drawn up extensive plans to promote yoga on June 21.
