Six arrested with precious snake venom in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, June 27 (ANI): Authorities arrested six people allegedly with precious snake venom worth rupees 50 crore in West Bengal. On the basis of secret information, Belakoba Forest Range officials under Jalpaiguri district took the accused persons in custody from a hotel. A senior forest official, Sanjay Dutta, said snake venom was stored in three containers with different shapes inside two school bags. During the investigation the accused persons claimed they wanted to smuggle it to Bhutan. Snake venom is used to make medicines to protect people from snake bites.
