Abdul Basit hosts ‘Eid Milan’ party at Pakistan High Commission

New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit on Tuesday hosted the ‘Eid Milan’ party in New Delhi. The party was attended by high level dignitaries and eminent personalities from political and social backgrounds. AAP leader Iliyas Azmi arrived at the Pakistan High Commission to attend the party. Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid, Syed Bukhari, were also among the guests. Abdul Basit expressed hopes that leaders of both India and Pakistan would soon resolve important issues. He then thanked the guests for attending the party specially mentioning Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. The Pakistan High Commission had cancelled its original plan to host an ‘iftar’ on July 4, during the holy month of Ramzan, to ensure that the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the SCO summit in the Russian city of Ufa went off without any hiccups.
